A book set somewhere you've always wanted to visit: Jill by Philip Larkin. First published in 1976 by Overlook Press.

This is a very well written book, and I hated it. The language flows beautifully -- Larkin was mostly a poet, and this is one of his two novels -- but the story was starkly realistic, and therefore frustrating and sad. John wasn ( Read more... )
